Hello everyone I am posting this in order for us to help find our missing pet "Baby". She is more of a best friend to all of us here and the children here love her dearly. She is a little black terrier mix. She has brown eyes, jetblack fur with a patch of white on her chest, and just a little under her chin. She wears a pink rhinestone collar and comes to the name of Baby. She was last seen on the evening of 2/05/2010 in the Jamestown road area across from the PC Hospital. She is truly loved and missed so if anyone can help us get our baby back it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me Heather Foy at heatherfoy09@gmail.com or 828-443-6638. Thank you so much!

What to do if you lose your pet: Don't waste any time, the faster you begin looking, the faster you may find them.
Search your pets favorite place. Search the neighborhood. Look under everything. If your pet is frightened they will hide. Knock on doors and let your neighbors know you have lost your pet. Call the local vet in your neighborhood or the pet emergency clinic. If your pet was hit by a car sometimes they are dropped off to get medical attention. Locate a Veterinarian (scroll to bottom of page) -

From: Jennifer Bennett (Charlotte, NC area) [mailto:jennbenn@carolina.rr.com] Sent: Friday, February 05, 2010 8:33 AM This is Butter. Jason found him in Rock Hill yesterday, on Cherry Road. He was traveling with a buddy and his buddy didn't make it across the road. We had him vaccinated against Rabies and had him groomed; he has no identification or microchip. Ads on Craigslist looking for his previous home have gone unanswered. He's an unaltered male Cocker Spaniel, probably about two years old. If you know of someone who would love to take him in, please let me know. He's a very sweet dog who loves everyone and every dog. He's super soft, playful and loving. He does not like to be confined.

Vega is home!
This intact male lab/pitbull was found wondering around Burke Memorial Park Cemetery (Drexel, NC area). He is being held because of the coming snow storm and so he won't go to animal control and possibly get euthanized. Right now this sweet dog is in the house with 7 other dogs and getting along well. He knows how to sit on command and seems to feel right at home indoors. Vega is home!

What to do when you find your pet.
Take down any flyers posted. Call all places where you placed flyers to let them know to remove the flyer.- Remove any and all ads placed on websites.
___________________________________ Don't ever give up looking for your pet.
Amazing things happen on a daily basis.
To those of us who treat a pet as a member of the family, losing one can be a very heart wrenching experience. Persistence is the key to finding your lost pet. First of all if your pet(s) are outside at all the they need to have on a collar and tag. This is their best ticket home. A collar without a tag is useless in helping your pet find his way home. Immediately print fliers with a picture and description of your animal. On the flier should be a picture of your animal, a detailed description, general area where the pet was lost, your name, telephone number(s) and "reward offered". The reward offered does not need to be a great amount but might entice children in your area to help look for your lost pet. Place the fliers in as many locations in your area as you can. Don't forget the local veterinarians, convenience stores and grocery stores. You should ask the management permission to place the flier and then have tape with you to actually put the flier up yourself. Go door to door in your area and either talk to your neighbors or leave your flier. The more people who know your animal is lost; the better. Comb your neighborhood especially in the morning and early evening or at your pet's normal feeding time. For cats kept mostly inside place an article of clothing with your scent along the perimeter of your property to entice your cat back into your yard. Indoor cats are at a huge disadvantage once outside being able to sense their way home. You need to visit the shelter in your jurisdiction every other day. Most shelters are only required to hold an animal for 72 hours. Animals can travel so if your pet isn't in the shelter of your jurisdiction, check the other shelters also. If you can, visit the shelters in neighboring jurisdictions. Lost animals can travel or be transported to another neighborhood before being picked up and taken to a shelter. When visiting the shelters you need to not only look at all the animals being held but to also check the books located at each shelter. Shelter books will list animal description of those animals found dead, those animals injured and receiving medical care at a veterinarian and those found animals being held by individuals and organizations. Call as many animal organizations as you can and give a detailed description of your lost animal along with your name and telephone number. Follow up this telephone call by mailing the organization your flier with your pet's picture. **PLEASE NOTE: When you make a donation, you will be redirected to the Paypal site. Beware of money scams. Don't let your emotions override your common sense. . Some "finders" collect a fortune in rewards for lost pets they haven't found. A common one is a person calls you claiming to be a long-haul trucker. He says he picked up your pet and is out of state now. He heard about your ad, flyer, etc and says he will return your pet if you will pay to ship it home. This person does not have your pet, he is only trying to take your money. Protect yourself. Never pay reward money or any shipping costs without viewing at least a clear photograph of the "found" pet. Keeping your pet safe - Pet owners should make it as easy as possible for the person who finds their lost pet to be able to contact them (the pet owner) by having a Pet Identification tag with a valid phone number on the animals collar.
